Welfare Officer's
Safeguarding Children is everyone's responsibility and
having Welfare Officers in all clubs and leagues with youth teams is
crucial to The FA’s approach to safeguarding.
All NFA affiliated clubs MUST provide a Club Welfare Officer
(CWOs) you must ensure you speak to your club secretary to ensure you
are aware of who your CWO representatives are. Any issues or concerns
around Child Welfare must be directed in the first instance to your CWO.
They then have set procedures to follow which are governed by the
Northumberland Football Associations County Welfare Officer, Gordon
Stewart.
For further information please refer to the NFA welfare officer
handbook,
or the Football Associations
Safeguarding pages.
All affiliated Leagues must have a League Welfare Officer (LWO) and the NGWFL is no
exception. The LWO looks after welfare of all participants in the League
by coordinating with CWO's and the County welfare officer. Contact details for
our welfare officer can be found on the contacts page.
Codes Of Conduct
Everyone involved in the NGWFL must follow the Fair Play Charter as
described in the League Rules and Regulations. An extract can be viewed
here.
As well as the codes of conduct the League also adheres to the policies on Safeguarding Children and
young people. These are also described in the League Rules and Regulations and an extract can be viewed
here.
